The Practical Life curriculum focuses on activities and exercises that enable a child to develop their concentration, independence, and fine motor skill. Within our program we practice food preparation, transferring, cleaning, and lessons in grace and courtesy.
Our Sensorial curriculum utilizes sensory impressions to teach the children to develop the critical thinking, environmental awareness, and classification skills needed for higher level processing in geometry, mathematics, and language.

Within our Montessori Science Preschool Curriculum children focus on understanding the difference between living and nonliving, Botany, Zoology, The Solar System, The Stratospheres, different aspects weather, and important biological & life cycles using a variety of materials and activities.
Our Culture curriculum encompases several subjects that are interchanged in order to help children develop an understanding of their community, social responsibilities, and world. Incorporating Geography, Botany, Zoology, Science, History, Music and Art in our journey around the word.
Preschool morning starts at 8:30am and the children are dismissed at - 11:30am or join our afternoon class starting at 12:30pm and ending at 3:30pm.
You have an option to choose 5 days/ week (Mon-Fri) or 3 days/week (Mon.Wed.Fri) and 2 days/week (Tue- Thu)
Unfortunately we do not offer transportation at preschool age, however we do have after preschool care programs in the same location.

Potty training is not a requirement as we meet each child at their point of need. We do encourage that once your child starts showing signs of readiness you work hand in hand with our educators to guide the child to self independence in this area.
No, previous Montessori experience is not required to be successful in our program. Our educators are trained to transition and guide your child every step of the way till they reach their full potential in our preschool.
FMMP is nested inside the Elementary school building of Hillcrest Montessori Elementary School.An Alberta Education Funded ECDP & K - Grade 6.
Our preschoolers have the flexibility to graduate directly into the Montessori ECDP in the Fall each year.
