Take Advantage To Enroll Your Child In Our Year Round Preschool Program
“Children naturally live in the moment and they allow that moment to be what it is; magical and beautiful in every way!'”
-April Peerless.
In all our programs your child is exposed to real life activities that promote their independence and self-efficacy. We provide opportunities for your child to follow his/ her own interests, and engage in activities that fosters creativity, imagination, and reasoning.
The children are exposed to real-life activities that promote their independence and self-efficacy. In addition, the children are given opportunities to use manipulatives or Montessori learning materials to navigate the Kindergarten Preparatory Curriculum.
Within this program, we focus on MĂ©tis Foundational Knowledge Themes. The program creates pathways for early learners (3-6 years) to learn from Michif language holders, Metis Nation leaders, Knowledge Keepers, and cultural experts who uphold their Metis authentic voices.
Within the METIS Early Learning Program, your child will learn about the Languages of the Metis People, Metis Culture and Traditions, Homeland History, Metis in Alberta, and Metis Nation Governance.
Our Montessori approach to learning phonic and numeracy skills is grounded in learning from concrete to abstract. The initial emphasis is on a sensory-led approach where your child uses a combination of music, rhythm, dance, visual, semantics, oral discussion, stories, songs, books, and tracers to establish a baseline on phonetic identification and quantifying numbers in their written and visual form. As they progress in their phonetics, we move towards recognizing, blending, and segmenting sounds to begin reading and spelling.
As they progress in their numeracy skills, they work towards mastering abstract concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using different manipulatives such as cubes, beads, and blocks. Both our numeracy and literacy programs adhere to our direction of "following the child."
We are fully aware that that children are born with different needs and capabilities to process and integrate things in their environment. As such, our primary goal is to provide sensory integration activities that help individuals learn to process sensory information more effectively.
The Sensory Integration Program helps children to process, integrate, and organize sensory information from the body and the environment in a healthy way. We use different sensorial materials and activities to promote the children’s understanding of textures, shapes, colors, sounds, and smells, to target different sensory modalities, such as touch, smell, taste, sound, and sight.

The office will then arrange a tour of your program of interest and an introduction to our community. This process is done without the child so we may focus on program functions and mutual expectations
We then invite the applicants and the parents to meet with the Montessori guides for about an hour. This meeting allows the guide to see the relationship between parent and child and ask questions about routines, temperament, and expectations.
After your child’s visit, the admissions committee and faculty review your application and decide. The review process can take up to two weeks. If the committee makes a favorable decision, you will have two weeks to sign the contract and complete the non-refundable enrollment deposit to secure your child’s spot in our program.
After your child’s been accepted into the program their one week transition period starts. Typically your child will spend at least one morning arriving at the start of school and staying through lunch with us. From there ,depending on your child’s level of comfort, we increase their hours throughout the week as they gradually adjust to spending the whole day with their peers.
